Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Dublin - Fáilte
Welcome to Dublin, a city that celebrates it's prose, poetry, play writing, and song writers! Dublin is a resoundingly social place, packed with culture, creativity and craic (fun). You'll see it in the busy pubs, in the rolling nightlife scene, in the music and in the chat. But this ancient gem basks in natural beauty, too. Framed by mountains, centered on the river Liffey and edged by a beautiful bay, the city's streets and alleys are filled with vibrant art and historic buildings, hip cafés and traditional "old man" pubs, as Dubliners call them. Walk the streets and you'll feel the energy of over 1,000 years of history, as echoes of the Vikings mix with buzzing boutiques, cobbled streets reverberate with the sounds of buskers, and 18th century parks play host to festivals, film and food markets.

We start our day with a walking tour of Dublin. Hosted by a local Dubliner, this walking tour tells of the lives and works of the city’s most famous authors and residents. We’ll have a break for lunch before heading to the Museum of Literature. Immerse yourself in the sounds of Irish storytelling across the centuries, trace the footsteps of James Joyce’s Dublin, and encounter rare gems from the National Library of Ireland, including copy number 1 of Ulysses. Enjoy free time in Dublin before meeting up for a group dinner. After dinner there is an option to attend a local comedy club.
Included: Accommodation, Dublin walking tour, Museum Entrance, Welcome Dinner
Excluded: Lunch, comedy club add-on (around $8)
Day 2: Literary Dublin
Today we’ll explore Trinity College and view the Book of Kells, as well as the long room library. The book of Kells is an illustrated manuscript created around 800 AD. The book was taken from the Abbey of Kells in county Meath, which was its home for centuries. We’ll then head to the Abbey theatre for a tour. Here the group will partake in a tour of the theatre and depending on group size, an interactive workshop.

Included: Accommodation, Breakfast, Trinity College & Book of Kells, Abbey Theatre outing
Excluded: Lunch, dinner
Day 3: James Joyce Worksop & Heading West

We’ll start our day at the James Joyce center. Here the group will have a bespoke workshop devoted to reading, discussing, and analyzing selected samples from Joyce’s work, including one or two short stories from Dubliners or a samples section from A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man. In the afternoon, travel by local train from Dublin to Galway (2hr 20 mins). We’ll arrive in Galway – With a vibrant arts scene, music venues, cafés, and cobblestone streets, Galway is a picture perfect, quintessentially Irish town. After dropping off luggage we have a walking tour of Galway with a local Galwegian before heading to the Dough Bros, a local pizza shop. Here we learn how the Bros are making pizza the Irish way.
Included: Breakfast, James Joyce Center Workshop, Train Ticket, Guided Walking Tour, Dough Bros Pizza Dinner, Accommodation
Excluded: Lunch, dinner

Day 4: Connemara Mountains, Sheep Farm, &
Kylemore Abbey

Today we venture into the rugged and beautiful landscape of Connemara, via private coach, where we find our first stop of the day, Kylemore Abbey. We will have plenty of time to explore all of what Kylemore has to offer, which includes entrance into the Abbey, the Victorian walled gardens, a Neo-Gothic church and mausoleum, and woodland walks. From here we carry onto our next stop of the day, Killary Sheep Farm. Nestled on one of the most beautiful pieces of land in all of Ireland overlooking Killary Fjord, we'll watch a Sheep Dog Demonstration, and partake in whatever other farm activities are on at the moment. We often find ourselves feeding baby lambs, watching sheep shearing, or trying our hands at bog cutting. After a full day of Connemara fun, it's back to Galway city for the evening.
Included: Day trip to Connemara, Farm Experience Accommodation, Breakfast
Excluded: Lunch, dinner
Day 5: Cliffs of Moher, Doolin, & The Aran Islands
Today we leave Galway and head for the charming village of Doolin. Doolin is home to Doonagore Castle, and is known for colorful houses, and traditional music. From here we sail by ferry to the smallest of the Aran Islands, Inis Oirr. The Aran Islands are officially a Gaeltacht area where the Irish language and traditions have been kept alive and are a hidden gem off the Irish west. We will visit the smallest Island which may feel like stepping back in time. The Island can be explored by horse and cart, bicycle, or on foot. Our next stop of the day is a visit to the Cliffs of Moher. We’ll have time to enjoy the magic of the cliffs, before heading back to Galway for the evening (55 mins drive).

Included: Breakfast, Transportation, Aran Islands Day Trip, Cliffs of Moher, Accommodation, Breakfast
Excluded: Lunch, dinner
Day 6: Dublin & the Wicklow Mountains
